Getting the Laundryroom Tiled.

Before 9/27/2007: In these photos, you can see the original vinyl flooring which cannot be replaced. You can also see where the damaged area was by the exterior door. A few days before the tile install took place, I removed the washing machine and dryer with help from a friend. I then removed the baseboard, nails and cleaned the floored. I bought the paint and supplies today, Pratt & Lambert #2282 Pebble.

Thursday, 9/27/2007: The tile guys showed up today about 8:30 AM. They took the door to the room off and layed the backer board down with thinset. They then layed out the tile in the diagonal. Its a little messy right now, but they are coming back tomorrow to do the grout, then later to seal it. By Saturday, I should be able to walk on it and prepare it for paint.

Friday, 9/28/2007: The Grout work was done and a bit off the bottom of the door was sawn off for clearance. The grout was also sealed.

Saturday, 9/29/2007: Started with the paint preparation, taping and brush work. The area where the washing machine and dryer go did not get the best job done. I declined to remove all the plumbing that was in the way.

Sunday, 9/30/2007: Finished painting this morning and cut the vinyl baseboard to size. It had to lay out for awhile to get rid of the roll effect. Also attached brand new washer hoses, Super-Strong 2500 PSI Burst Strength for both hot and cold water. I also went to Lowe's to purchase the shelving and became frustrated with the lack of organization so I just walked away and will take care of it later.

Saturday, 10/6/2007: All Done. I went to Menard's and bought the wire shelving that I wanted. The help there was great. I also bought some more containers just to fill the shelves. Don't worry, I will fill them.
